age: mid mid-twenties gender: male occupation: artist location: washington match profile: here appearance: mirror projects: 1, 2 movies: miller's crossing, brazil, casablanca, rumble fish, mad dog and glory, man bites dog, the royal tennenbaums, the limey, delicatessen, network, in the company of men, simple men, the last days of disco, drowning by numbers, the conversation, ghost dog, the long goodbye, and generally speaking, anything by the coen brothers, peter greenaway, jim jarmusch, hal hartley, whit stillman, akira kurosawa, ingmar bergman, or terry gilliam. also, any movie with an appearance of tom waits is instant gold, as far as i'm concerned. music: modest mouse, charles mingus, guided by voices, superchunk, fugazi, cat power, sixteen horsepower, quasi, tom waits, elliott smith, tool, miles davis, the deftones, the red house painters, radiohead, mr. bungle, pinback, sunny day real estate, sonic youth, they might be giants, morphine, billie holiday, belle and sebastian, and many, many more. books: i don't like books. i find the medium tedious. but i have read and enjoyed the following few: dune, the satanic verses, the sound and the fury, life after god, shogun, winnie the pooh, and the house at pooh corner. graphic novels: jimmy corrigan: the smartest kid on earth, stray bullets, strangers in paradise, whiteout, 100 bullets, and most everything by alan moore, frank miller, warren ellis, garth ennis, and brian michael bendis. comics: i only place them here because they were never collected and bound, but are no more than brilliant short stories issued in comic book format: beautiful stories for ugly children. unfortunately, they are very much out of print, but you can find the text to at least the first two of these masterpieces among these archives. you have to manually search for the bsfuc issues, but they're well worth the effort. homepage: blue's news I am a Gauntlet Adventurer. |
